Latin Mass Society conference

The Guild of St Clare has a stall at today's conference! The line up of speakers includes Joseph Pearce, and Bishop Schneider.

The story so far

The story so far...

The children's chapter of the Guild of St Clare, Oxford met for the first time at the home of Lucy Shaw. The older children who attended made cushion covers and the younger ones made photograph frames with binca. As the numbers were high, it quickly became necessary to move to a larger venue, so the Guild now meets fortnightly at the church hall of St Anthony of Padua, Headington. Skills learned by children attending the group include smocking, quilting, dressmaking, pattern cutting, applique, surface embroidery and basic goldwork.

Three adult groups have now been set up, in Oxford, Birmingham and London. They undertake vestment repair for traditional priests and also design and make liturgical banners, as well as providing tuition for members in many different needlework skills. Outings and training days are also regularly organised.
